Filipino mythology and local legends are once in the spotlight. Another Filipino animated series about Filipino mythological characters is now available on Netflix.

“Mga Kwentong Epik ni Maria Makiling” is an animated show based on a comic book series of the same name. Both are created by Epik Studios.

The show follows a young woman who discovers that she is the goddess Maria Makiling. Ryza Cenon voices the titular character while Bodjie “Kuya Bodjie” Pascua takes the part of the show’s narrator.

“Mga Kwentong Epik ni Maria Makiling” is a 6-episode series with each episode running at around 20 minutes. It’s definitely worth binge-watching after a long day!

It’s exciting to see more Filipino stories in the limelight! Watch it here.
